In many small institutions, the data that matters most — student records, statutory returns, funding evidence — lives in spreadsheets on individual laptops, held together by the experience of one or two long-serving people. It works, until someone is on leave, retires, or moves on. Then submissions stall, history is lost, and knowledge has to be rebuilt from scratch.
That is not a software problem; it is a continuity problem. What a small institution really needs from a student information system is institutional continuity: a single source of truth that keeps compliance and memory durable across staff transitions, without enterprise-scale complexity or cost.

How we are different
- Delivered into your tenancy. The system runs in your own Microsoft Azure environment, under your policies, with your identity platform. Your data never leaves systems you control.
- No annual licence fee. You receive a perpetual licence to the source code, configuration and documentation, vesting as each milestone is accepted — nothing to renew, ever.
- The exit ramp. From day one, everything exports to plain spreadsheets at any time, without our involvement. You are never worse off than today, whatever happens.
- Honest about automation. Statutory submission is never fully automatic — HESA itself operates no system-to-system upload. The system's job is a validated file, the quality report behind it, and a disciplined sign-off; the judgement stays with your staff.
- Not finished until you can run it without us. Knowledge transfer is acceptance-tested: named staff operate the system unaided before the project is complete.
Built to be scrutinised
Our clients are publicly funded and answerable to governors, regulators and the public. We expect to be looked up, questioned and audited — so we publish who we are and how we operate on our trust & governance page. And we would rather show than tell: everything we claim can be demonstrated hands-on, using invented data and published datasets only — client personal data never appears in our demonstrations or marketing.
